What should I do if my phone will not turn on?

There are a few reasons why your iPhone might not power on:

  • Dead battery
  • The iPhone is in Recovery Mode
  • Damage to the iPhone

To resolve this issue, follow the steps below:

  1. iPhone models without a HOME button: Try holding down the PWR/LOCK button for up to 30 seconds, or until the Apple logo is displayed.
iPhone models with a HOME button: Try holding down both the PWR/LOCK and HOME buttons for up to 30 seconds, or until the Apple logo is displayed.
  2. If your iPhone still won't power on, the battery is probably dead. Plug your iPhone into the charger and let it charge for at least half an hour before trying to turn it on again.
  3. If it still doesn’t respond, try plugging your iPhone into your computer and launching iTunes. Your iPhone may be recognized by iTunes and indicate that the device is in Recovery Mode. If this is the case, try restoring your iPhone.
  4. If none of these solutions solve the issue, you will need to contact Apple to have your iPhone repaired.
