There are a few reasons why you may be experiencing problems with iMessage, including an inconsistent connection to mobile data or a problem with the iMessage app.
Most iMessage problems can be solved by turning the service off and then on again.
If you continue experiencing issues, consider leaving iMessage off for a couple of days, then trying again. While iMessage is off, you can still send and receive regular SMS/MMS messages to other cell phones over your cellular connection.
If you have recently switched from an iPhone to another type of phone and are experiencing problems receiving messages on your new phone, you will need to Deregister from iMessage.
