FAQ's

How do I turn Emergency Alerts On/Off?

Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEAs) are short emergency messages from authorized federal, state, local, tribal and territorial public alerting authorities that can be broadcast from cell towers to any WEA‐enabled mobile device in a locally targeted area. These alerts include:

  • Severe Weather
  • AMBER Alerts
  • Silver Alerts
  • Other safety threats in your area

To turn these alerts on/off, follow these steps:

  1. From the main screen, slide the screen up to display your apps.
  2. Locate and tap the "Settings" icon.
  3. Locate and tap "Safety and emergency." Then, tap Wireless emergency alerts.
  4. Tap "Allow alerts" to turn emergency alerts on/off.
